Ko Samui

Surat Thani Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I spent the month of November, 2006 travelling throughout Thailand. My journey, by rail and air, took me from Bangkok to Chang Mai, Chang Mai to The Golden Triangle (with a short stay in Laos), then south to Phuket, from Phuket up the Andaman coast to the Khao Lak and Khao Sok National Parks, then northeast to the Island of Ko Samui in the Gulf and, finally, back to Bangkok. Thailand is a wonderful country and a photographers dream. Hope you enjoy my photos (and now some videos too).

Ko Samui

On Samui I stayed for a week on Lamai beach. Hat Lamai is more tranquil than its overbuilt neighbor, Hat Chawin up the coast. But even on Hat Lamai I noticed that environmental degradation is beginning to show up in the form of raw sewage in the water.....with plastic bottles and some unmentionable items floating around in the surf. I'd never experienced seawater stinging my eyes like that before.
