We drove up during the weekend from my mothers house and it took about 7 or so hours to get to Salem. Of course we had to stop by at my old stomping grounds of Providence RI to see if one of my Chef friends had a few minutes to spare. She was to busy to meet us but did speak on the phone with me and we tried to plan a meeting for the drive home. As anyone from New England knows this is the best time of the year to go to New England. The fall foilage is peaceful, serene and for me very very nostalgic!!!
Our trip with Walk for All Seasons fitness group met up that Sunday and we had our welcome back/orientation dinner. We had lots of Tai Chi planned this time. and Yoga. I am not the best at Yoga, but I try.
We saw the Salem Witchhouse and listened to all of the creepy stories. We toured "Hawthorne's House of Seven Gables" which was more creepy than the Salem Witchhouse. I could feel the shadows and ghosts all around me there.
One of the fine evenings we had the drummer Mamamdou teach us how to drum. That was a very fun evening. One of the other evenings we had Scottish dancers teach us how to do their dance. It was somewhat like Squaredancing, but it was 'round dancing....'
Once we had completed our rally we headed back to PA a different way. We went thru another city in Massachusetts and had lunch at "The Blue Ginger" where one of the worlds famous chefs works/owns. I was hoping to meet him. But he had passed thru a day earlier. I did get a ball cap from the restaurant and some special Red Pepper Ginger Soy Sauce.
Over all, this was another fun fitness rally when we get together with old friends/ and make new friends.
