Leave for Seattle for a 1hr, 8min flight to Seattle. After a 1hr, 17min wait, take a flight to JFK International, New York. Arrive around 1605.  (Domestic flight [$227]. Board next flight bound for London, England (6hr, 50min) then change flights after 1hr, 20 min, for St. Petersburg. (International flight - $1,605) Arrive St. Petersburg roughly 0610 following day. Check in at Hotel St. Petersburg (Byrogovskaya naberezhnaya 4) Hotel [$77]

Next day, ate breakfast/lunch meal at Laima (88 Bolshoy Prospeckt & kanala Griboedova 14 -- 24-hour, modern bistro). [$2] Tour Vasilevsky Islands Central Naval Museum (Birzhevaya ploshchad 3) where Soviet and Russian naval power history from beginning of naval fleets from Napoleanic times are displayed -- open 1030-1730 everyday except Monday, Tuesday and last Thursday of every month. [$2]. Take 3-hour tour of Peter & Paul Fortress.

Picked up lunch at Kalinka (Syezdovskaya linia 9), which is a cafe on Vasilevsky Island. [$25] Purchase tickets to see Great Palace and Great Pond [$6 each]. Great Palace open 1000-1700 and closed Tuesday and last Monday of each month. Ysupov Palace (naberezhnaya reki Moyki 94) is a historial site tied to fall of imperial Russia; has 2 wax museums devoted to Rasputin's muder in 1916 [$1.20] Buy train ticket to Moscow at Nevsky Prospekt 7. [$7]

In Moscow 2 hours later. Check in to Hotel Moskva (Okhotny ryad 2) [$60] Enjoy dinner at hotel; chicken Kiev, Russian salad and fruit compote. Have breakfast of savory blini, sausage, potatoes with sour cream and chai tea at American Bar & Grill (ulisa 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya) [$8] Take Moskva River Tour [$5] to see Kremlin, Cathedral of Christ the Savior, monument of Peter the Great, some Stalin skyscrapers and fortified monestaries. Visited Lenin's Tomb and Kremlin's State History Museum on north end of Kremlin. [$8 to enter Kremlin + $3 for museum] Open 1100-1900 everyday, except Tuesdays. Tour through "KGB Museum" [$15] and Great Kremlin Palace [$30] via Capital Tours; offers EXCLUSIVE access to Kremlin. Take lunch break at Rose O'Grady's Irish-Amercain restaurant (ulitsa Znamenka 9/12) [$9] Vist Pushkin Fine Arts Museum (ulitsa Volkhonka 12) SW of Kremlin [$10 + admission charge]. Buy ticket at Europe Square to travel to Izmaylovo Market [$2.50] to buy Soviet memorabilia, icons, paintings, ceramics, carpets, officer's caps, matryoshka dolls, wood carvings, wolfskins and quilts. Pick up lemon tart from DeliFrance Cafe (ulitsa Arbat 16/3) [$4]
