from one tradeshow in Providence to another in Vegas

Our one distributors was hosting a regional tradeshow in Providence from 15-18 January, so they invited/required us to attend. This New England distributor’s show, however, happened to fall the weekend leading up to the NAHB International Builders Show, which we would also be attending. To satisfy both obligations, I loaded up my car and trailer and drove to Rode Island for the weekend while the owners and some newer workers stayed behind to prepare for the big show and flew out a couple of days later.
From the loading ramp, I had transferred everything to our spot on the floor and set up a makeshift booth with minimum materials since all of the good stuff was en route to Vegas. I worked the show alone for two full days and on the third afternoon of the event, our Sales Manager showed up to help me wrap up the show and break down the booth. With his truck, he hauled the trailer-load of material back to Bristol while I drove to the airport in Providence and caught my flight to Las Vegas.
Arriving in the city of lights, I joined up with the other guys at the convention center and pitched to set up the new booth. We were all excited to see it come together and that we were featuring a booth twice the size we had the previous year. It had been a long day and evening had fallen by the time we finished getting our display together, so we had a late dinner, drank a few beers, and retired to our rooms in the Luxor early.
