Arrival in Juneau
Here we are in Juneau! (After a long day of flying)
We're staying in Juneau Hotel, in a suite room (buy one night get one free with the Alaskan Toursaver book!) which is actually quite nice - more like a mini apartment! We can see a little marina across the street, and we're within walking distance of the downtown area.
And that's exactly what we've done so far - walk around downtown! We got in around 3 or so and ended up walking the length of the port with the giant cruise ships to figure out where our excursions would leave from. Ate dinner at a pizza place that had the best pizza since Italy! Mine was fresh tomato and basil with ricotta! Yumm.....
Both Jesse and I were a little surprised at how GREEN Alaska appears to be! All the surrounding mountains are covered with evergreens, which somehow appear even greener than anywhere else I've ever seen them, even with the overcast skies. The weather is in the 50's and a little breezy next to the water (of course).
Tomorrow we're taking a cruise of Tracy Arm with Adventure Bound Alaska!
