The reality today was: i woke late, then went to the Termini (main station) bought ticket at the ticket vending machine and checkt the schedule...
from this moment i was ready for all, cuz i didn't know what would happen and where i might be next days... all trains had indications "sorpresso" - cancelled - because of 'sciopero' = strike. There were maybe 5% of trains which were running but u never know which ones and how big were the delays. Hm... the strike was supposed to end at 21.00 but in Italy u can't be sure about those things - it might end at 20.00 or even at 5 the next morning LOL.
I decided just to use the day to see the city and enjoy Roma. It was useless to wait with all my luggage at the station hoping there woul be going some train to Napoli.
The buses were everywhere in the city just standing, the drivers were sitting and talking at the road edges and only really very few services were still running. So there was nothing else to do - just walking ://
fortunately after an hour or so i saw a bus - got in and rode some stops toward Vatican.Ha! I was lucky! Then i visited Basilica San Pietro and at the exit i met... the french brothers (we have already said good bye in the morning) with the italian friend. So we visited the graves of the popes - including Giovanni Paolo II - then climbed those 550 steps to the Cupola di San Pietro - with the excellent view over the city - it was my second time up there - but it was worth!.
From San Pietro we went back to the city for lunch and then headed for hostel.
Here we just rest a bit, i packed my stuff and waited for the evening - always hoping to get to Napoli.
At 20.00 i went to the station and... i miss the train at about 3 minutes! ahahah So the italians finished (at least some of them) the strike! There were still many traines cancelled - but more than the half were on its normal service (normal it's here a bit exagerated LOL). All running trains had some 30-60min of delays. I was waiting over 1 hr to get in, but i was happy! Finally the train were running! Woohooo! Good bye Roma!
