After breakfast we were transported to the Puno train station and departed to Cuzco on the Andean Explorer Peru Rail Train at around 08:00 which would arrive in Cuzco at around 17:50. Perurail is part of Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises a unique collection of travel experiences which encompasses some of the world’s most distinctive destinations and memorable journeys.
PeruRail is a specialist in train travel in Peru, and links most of the tourist highlights of the Andes, most notably Machu Picchu, Cusco and the Sacred Valley. Undoubtedly the most spectacular way to tour and travel in Peru, PeruRail takes you through scenery of outstanding beauty and to places almost inaccessible by any other means.
During the trip we played cards, read, listened to Peruvian traditional music, drank Pisco Sour and ate some delicious food and made a scenic stop at La Raya. We even got to sing Happy Birthday to Elsa, who had celebrated her birthday in Santiago do Chile on the 1st of May. When we arrived in Cuzco we were transported to Hotel Marqueses, check-in and went out for dinner at the Inca Grill. The food was great and the drinks even better. We were completely exhausted and went directly to bed, but Nelson and Daniel decided to investigate some bars. They went out on the town and met a couple of girl in a bar called Rosmery and Georgina…. the rest is history.
