I’ve moved to Morocco, permanently… I’ve got Africa to the south and Europe to the north, awaiting me and my guitar… But first things first. I’ve got to put down roots here in Morocco. And while I’m doing that, I’m going to go play music in Every Single Town in the whole country…

0202. No hotel town (Mor 051--new)

Late afternoon, back in Berkane I gambled that I'd be able to find a place to stay in Zaio, the next town down the road... nope...

I still set out quickly to explore the town--figured I'd worry about lodging afterward.  The town is situated right at the base of the mountains with a great view of the valley from the "top end" of town.  The cool evening breeze felt great as I hiked up to the edge of the mountains to get a look...

Only a couple of hash smokers hung around in the rather dingy plaza where I parkbenched, so I didn't stick around too long.

Would've liked to have dwadled in Zaio longer, but with no hotels, not a whole lot of late night transportation and not in the mood for going around asking folks for a place to stay,  I fould a taxi kbir heading to Nador.  It was just me and another passenger--the other guy suggested we each pay double fare so the taxi would head out sooner... Being the miser that I am I refused...

"Good luck finding a bus at this hour" the driver snorted...

Finally he caved in and we headed out... He picked up a few more passengers on the way, and I only payed single fare--so it ended up being a win win situation...
