The bus ride between Auckland and Rotorua is one 4 hr postcard. Beautiful fields, mountains, streams. Sheep & cattle everywhere. It's been a long time since I saw Transylvania, but I think New Zealand has now occupied my top spot for scenic countryside.
I got to see the route twice as I've double-backed to reach the airport. Its almost time to travel back to N.America... which feels strange, honestly.
