The streets of Karol Bagh in the early morning, market not open.

Before we headed to the aiport (again!) we took a short walk around the Karol Bagh neighborhood. It proved to be a little much to handle at first since we eventually felt like there was a parade following behind us. So, we cut it short and headed back to our "safe zone", aka the hotel. There wasn't much time until we had to leave anyway.....

The flight into Kathmandu was bumpy, as to be expected. But a little turbulence was worth the end result. As we descended, the clouds broke and we were finally able to see the Kathmandu Valley. Landing went smoothly, as did getting our visas (NOTE TO TRAVELERS: Make this process easier by carrying your own passport-size photos for the visa application and you cannot pay in Nepali rupees). And this time, there was a driver waiting for us. But no car. We jumped in a city bus with about 8 other tourists and guides, and made our way to our hotel. After getting the bus caught on a telephone wire and knocking down a store sign when the bus driver backed up just a little too far, we made it to Hotel Utse....
