One night only

ANDREI - A brief interlude in our 2 day boat trip down the Mekong River. Not the best of settlements, but has a number of bars and restaurants (inmcluding a 3rd generation Indian one!).
All the guesthouses touted for business as soon as we stepped off the slow boat, so we went with one for 40,000 kip for a double room for one night. The room was a bit depressing and dark but it had a private bathroom and we're getting used to these wet-room style arrangements. We were on the side of town with only 10% of the bars and restaurants, so we had to trudge through the mud at the lowest point of the place (we're it meets the Mekong quite fully!), and I sank up to my knee on one occasion!
Took ages to be served our Laos food, but it was fresh and tasty, washed down with some fine Beerlao.
Trudged home and was offered marijuana on numerous accasions. I bet one or two of those guys would have turned me into the police if I'd accepted! But I don't smoke, so it was academic.
Glad we were only spending one night here!
