Heidelberg - The Red Walled City

We were able to take two 15 day tours through Brendon Tours with a few extra days in London between.

Heidelberg - The Red Walled City

From our cruise we were bused again to Heidelberg, where we could look up at the red-walled castle high on the hill overlooking the city below.  We didn’t have enough time to do any tour of the castle and there was no way we would have climbed the stairs that lead to it, not old fogies like us.  We spent our hour just trying to take in the scenery and the wonderfully elegant homes across the river.

On the bus again we head for Rhineland, where we spend the night.

Dinner tonight at the hotel is again buffet style, but not as fully stocked as they needed.

Renaissance Karsruhe
The Marriott Renaissance Karlsruhe was another of the four star hotels on our first Brendan tour. Although the exterior didn’t have the brand new glass and aluminum look the interior was again in a very modern styling. The staff was cordial and ready for any requests. Our room was quite clean and fair sized. This time we had two beds. Amenities included a large TV, pants press, hair dryer and internet connection. I would rate the restaurant here just as high as the hotel itself, four stars all the way. Both dinner and breakfast was very excellent.
