We were able to take two 15 day tours through Brendon Tours with a few extra days in London between.

Venice

After quickly checking in we were back on the bus for our dinner in Venice.  Traffic was our only problem, because as it is anywhere traffic at that hour is terrible.  But we got to our boat dock and took them to Venice and our dinner.  The restaurant was ready for our group and we were seated at many small tables with bottles on wine on each table and enough choices to please everyone.  A few people actually decided on not eating fish. Maybe they have allergies, but the rest of us went with fish, and it was amazingly good.

After dinner we strolled slowly thru some of the small narrow streets and finally to St. Mark’s Square.  Around the square were several small stages with a few musicians playing romantic waltzes, most made up of a piano, violin, bass, and accordion.  It was wonderful. We had never been in Venice or this square before so we were taking in the beauty when someone noticed that there were no pigeons.

Very nice hotel near Venice
Our bus had a very difficult time backing into the really little parking lot of Il Burchiello. It looked way too small. And the hotel didn’t look very large either, although pretty and clean looking, with sparkling white with blue trim. Inside we were happily surprised to find a very nice foyer, lobby, and hallways, and our room was very nice. This again is a four star facility on the mainland not too many miles from where we would catch the small boats over to Venice. Downstairs was the dining room where we ate dinner and breakfast and it also was very good.
