Edinburgh

Our ride continued through the back roads into Scotland, and to a great tourist trap.  It was in the town of Gretna Green just over the border.  Back a long time ago Irish kids who were 16 came north to Scotland where the Blacksmith had the authority to marry them when they couldn’t marry in Ireland.  So he was in great demand.  There were several shops to browse through and a few had lots of heraldric items but they were all Scottish and not a one was Irish.

Then on in to Edinburgh where our hotel was a little ways from nearly everything.  We walked into town for dinner and found an absolutely wonderful Italian place called Bar Roma.  This is a super place, both for the food and the fun atmosphere. We had pizza, wine and even dessert.  Actually the place was so crowded we felt lucky to get a table.  Lots of parties here.
