And back again!
August 24, 2007
The return to Bath meant one last night of drunken excess, before we sped back to Trowbridge. It was a good thing too, we hadn't emptied the waste tanks of teh boat, and we were running low on water. Ces't la vie no? It wasn't too bad, just ponged a little in places.
All in all it was an excellent trip - definitely a good way to chill out and unwind. Being on the boat is a totally different way of life, and by the end the crew were functioning as a well oiled unit, seamlessly springing into action when called, and even becoming a tourist attraction at the locks. I was sorry to see Merlin go, even if I will always have the memories come flooding back when I sniff a manured field. That and I got to keep the hat. Cabin boy, oh yeah!
