I'm drawn to the ocean so Hawai'i was the answer.

Drawn to the ocean. Waikiki, Oahu, Hawai'i. Aloha!

Me going into the helicopter to see Oahu from the skies
Aloha! I went to Waikiki, Oahu, Hawai'i back in 2005 i believe, for about 4 days. Hawai'i the most touristy place I've been to so far. Hawai'i relies on tourists to maintain their states necessities. Hawai'i consists of many islands and we chose to go to Waikiki being our first timers in Hawai'i. It is about a 5 hour flight. Hawai'ians calls us "mainlanders" or if they refer to the States they say "the mainland". It is obvious to say Hawai'i is one of the most quietest states in America where they've succesfully have kept their roots of the polynesian culture still in tact.

Once upon arrival to Waikiki, Oahu, Hawai'i we were greeted by beautiful hawai'ian ladies who gave us leis as a welcome gift to their islands. The leis were pretty in beautiful shades of pinks and the aroma was wonderful.
Polynesian Center boarding the boat
Aboard we rode into the shuttle that took us to our hotel. I forgot the name of the hotel but it was close to the beaches. The view of our hotel was brilliant. The view of the ocean is what I've always wanted.

We went sightseeing and walked around Waikiki. Never have I felt so safe. The streets were quite clean, the atmosphere of the city was relaxing and easy going. Sure beats the hustle and bustle in LA. There was no need to rent a car since buses and shuttles took the thousands of tourists around their beautiful city and island. Most of the shops in Waikiki is Japanese owned. All of which thought I was Japanese and spoke to me in Japanese. That was quite hillarious.

The places we saw were the Polynesian Center where again a shuttle took us to.
what's that say?
For anything you want to do in Waikiki you won't need to worry about transporation. It is everywhere around the corner. The Polynesian Center had performances of traditional dance shows and luau's. Who would back down from watching guys cook your fat pig in front of your face? Unfortunately we did and had to skip that due to our time constraints. We did see the Polynesian dance that was fabulous and made me wanted to dance w/ them at that moment. The costumes of course were of traditional straw skirts, bracelets, and so forth. The screams and shouts of the Polynesian men meant of a different language in their culture.

Next we went to a submarine ride where we dived into the ocean many km's down. Exactly how much? i forgot. we saw plenty of fishes and seals but no sharks at that moment.
i feel hawai'ian
I wanted to see sharks. Again we had a shuttle and a boat to take us to the submarine ride location. Waikiki trully knows how to cater the tourists.

Next up the memorable and grand helicopter ride! Now that is definitely something worth trying anywhere in the world. Being on top of the world in a helicopter is sweet. While in the helicopter you could feel your heart going up, down, left, right, swaying here and there which ever direction we were heading to. The pilot was the one showing us what we were looking at. mostly hills and volcanos. In front of me were barf bags where at one point I thought I needed. I highly recommend you go on a helicopter ride. This is also a step before you consider going skydiving, which i am.

Overall this place is definitely worth the money and there are so many other Hawai'ian islands to explore.  Did you know that Hawai'ians pronounce all of their vowels? like the Canadians but the difference is, it's not english. The bus drivers would ask us the mainlanders to pronounce specific Hawai'ian words which became a challenge for the most of us. The street names alone was a challenge to pronounce.

well Hawaii(big island) has many things to see and do with the volcano park on the Hilo side, and capt cook history with very good coffee on the Kona side.it also has beautiful gardens, beaches, waterfalls.and activities to do.
Maui has the second largest city in Hawaii, with the most beautiful beaches(it's country without losing the comforts of the city)
Kaui,Molokai,Lani are very laid back so you get the real country feeling. http://www.hawaiitours.com/polynesian-cultural-center-admission-and-show-only.pcc-01.html
