I am traveling to Harrismith, S. Africa in August 2008 to serve with Thrive Africa as a volunteer. Thrive Africa's mission is to equip and mobilize indigenous leaders to become strategic, Godly influences in their cultural communities.

Half way there

Well.. the plane left on time and everything is running smoothly. The trip to Dakar from JFK was uneventful and not very exciting as flights go. Once in the air immediately they were a round with drinks and food. Diner was quite nice a choice of a beef dish (which  I could not make out the kind of meat it was so stayed away from that) and a Salmon and Risotto which I chose. Though I am not much of a salmon eater outside of sushi, this was quite good. I did try striking up conversations with everyone around me but no one wanted to talk much, just wanted to watch their in-flight movies or sleep…. Not very exciting at all! But, oh well, I guess this guy will have to wait until the Darak to Johannesburg legs of the flight to find some conversation.

We arrived about a ½ our early, unloaded about ¼ of the plane and picked up fuel and a few new passengers.  I completely passed out after that.
