Waiting for the boat in Rudesheim
We arrived in Rudesheim around 12:15 and went right to the boat depot to buy our tickets for the ferry back up to Koblenz. Our goal was the 14:30 ferry. When we got to the KD-Ferry desk, we found out that the 14:30 was either not running or sold out, so we had to buy tickets for the 14:15 ferry. 24.75 EUR per adult for a 4 hour boat ride, definitely not a bad price...
Having four hours to kill, we wandered into the central square of the city to start some sightseeing. There happens to be a little festival set up in the square with local wine tasting, a Bitburger beer tent, a Bratwurst tent, crepes, events for the kids, live music, etc. We figured we'd start here and taste some of the local wine and grab a Brat for lunch and then look into some sightseeing before being at the boat for the 4PM boarding. We left the square at 3:45 after around 8 bottles of wine!!! Hey, the weather was perfect and the wine was very good! At three bottles for 19.50 (for 6 people to split), how can you complain!!!
