Back to the start - Koblenz
Finishing the boat ride (4 hours or so), we ventured over to the Deutches Eck where the Rhein and the Mosel rivers merge. Here there is a giant equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I. Ventured up to the top for a view over the rivers...left my camera down below for a long-distance group shot so no pics from the top of the statue. After some photos, we header off to dinner for a very good Schnitzel (once I remember thename of the place I'll post a review) and then off on the 2.5 hour drive back to Eindhoven. I dozed off while Darlyl took over the driving...he listened to the GPS which for some ungodly reason took us through Roermond on 52 instead of continuing up 61 to Venlo which added at least 30 minutes to the trip. Ah well.
All in all, this was a great day. Good wine and beer, good people, good food, great scenery, and wonderful weather...in general, all the reasons Germany is so great to visit!
Actually the same day, but putting this on the 6th so it's at the end of the blog...
