My new home Base: Arizona
Now that I like it a little more than I did when I first moved, I'm feeling more at ease with the roads and traffic laws. I, can drive like the locals but when I hit the bigger city like Tucson or Phoenix, the hairs at the back of my head stand the whole time I'm driving. Because of the distances I had to cover just to go to the grocery store, I have learned to drive 60 miles as if I were going next door and driving to Phoenix feels like driving to Tucson.
Naturally I have taken time to tour as much of the state as I possibly can. I must admit, it is a huge State and it will take time to see all it's corners. So far I pride myself for seeing more than three quarters of the state including towns like Tucson (Home Sweet Home), Phoenix, Sedona, Safford, Gila Bend, Flagstaff, Benson, Wickenburg, Quartzsite, Casa Grande, Vicksburg, Wintersburg, Sonoita, Nogales, Wilcox, Patagonia, Prescott, Scottsdale, Tombstone, Bisbee, Douglas, Duncan . . .
The one place that I never could grow tired of, is the Grand Canyon. Arizona is popularly referred to as the desert: indeed for its desert climate, exceptionally hot summers, and mild winters, but the high country in the north features pine forests and mountain ranges with cooler weather than the lower deserts. Did you know that the State of Arizona is also referred to as the Grand Canyon State? It is home to University of Arizona a world re-known University. Located in Southwestern United States, Arizona is the 48th state and the last to be admitted to the union in 1912.One thing I love about Arizona is the warm desert climate, I do not dance in the cold, so I embrace the warmth of the Arizona heat. O' I learned to wear Jeans and T-shirts to work and no one asked why ha-ha! feels righteous!
