The Rodeos at Santa Cruz County Fair Grounds

The very first Rodeo show I ever saw was at the Santa Cruz county fair grounds? Well, at the beginning of 2004 after relocating from England to this little town in the middle of nowhere and marrying a self proclaimed cowboy he decided to inaugurate me into the western culture. I was forced (not literally of course) to learn the wild west lifestyle, including cleaning horse stables, feeding the thorough bred horses that my ex-husband purchased and bred at such dear prices and on occasion try to ride them. It was in between the hassles and bustles of the cowboy lifestyle, that my dear hubby decided to take me on a date - to the RODEO, he said with such a big grin on his face. I was blown away - of course not to embarrass myself, I acted as though I actually knew what the rodeo was and that I was excited to go to one, lol!! Can you imagine the shock once we got the fair grounds? There were hundreds of families and both horsemen and women. Everyone wearing wrangler jeans, cowboy shirts, blouses and hats. I was wrong, Jerry asked me to wear a pair of wrangler jeans and a cow girl shirt, a cow boy hat except it was pink to make it more girly. Someone should have taken a photograph of me then, I bet I scared the little girls away: ever seen a black Cowgirl?
