The Catalina Mountains: A day with Wayne the artist
Wayne is my artist friend who lost his heart and soul to India and the ways of old. His art is rather bizzare and some may consider it evil. When he first sent me a link to his work and told me he was a photographer I was excited to share ideas on photography and my travels. I learned quickly that he did not have a camera (digital) and that he did not take the kinds of photographs I took. Wayne makes his own cameras using the most intricate designs that include human parts, precious stones and metals(www.boyofblue.com) and he even sent me alink to his myspace profile (www.myspace.com/boyofblue), some of the images look terrifying. The man himself is so calm and intelligent it is hard to see him relating to his work. I probably saw a side of him that many do not see. He invited me for an evening to the foothills of the Catalinsa where he and his darling daughter Tara live, h eis a single dad and the passion he has for his daughte ris amazing. I was amazed at the beauty of the mountains and the stunning sunsets that I missed due to low battery power on my camera.
To be continued . . .
