Hotel Niederräder Hof Frankfurt am Main

New Year in Frankfurt and Bamberg. And no, I didn't have a meal on my own, it's part of the German traditional New Year celebrations... you'd better read the New Year review to find out more.
I’ve stayed in Hotel Niederrad a few times now, generally because of it's location, just around the corner from my sister!

Situated on the main road it's a typical business / citybreak type hotel: the rooms are comfortable but functional.  They are a decent size however and are bright coming complete with a shower and TV.  There seems to be an odd ritual of collecting your TV remote from reception when you check in and you have to return it back there when you check out - are they worried about people stealing them?

It's position away from the city centre means it never seems particularly busy but apparently it does get a lot of custom when the regular trade fairs are in town.

I can't comment on the breakfast, served in a lower ground breakfast bar, as I always go round to my sisters for that...

The last time I stayed there they put me in some sort of overspill house at the bottom of the Hotel garden which was actually quite good as it was like renting a flat rather than staying in a hotel.  I’m not sure how often they use those rooms though or whether you can reserve them specifically.
