July 4th weekend of surprises

What a nice weekend Nicole and Leon invited me on. I sort of feel bad now because I was really looking forward to being somewhere else this weekend but things didn't work out so I begrudgingly accompanied one of my favorite new familes to Temecula. But they had a surprise for me beforehand - a Galaxy Game! Leon and his other European-doctor-friend have had season tickets to Galaxy games since they first started and I used to accompany them once a month or so and watch the pretty boys stretch in front of me on the sidelines.

Ever since Beckham joined though, they've had more difficulty getting guest passes or coming up with extra seats between the two. But today was so nice! Can I tell you - Beckham is a GREAT PLAYER. Nobody touches him and it's hilarious watching the girls go nuts for him. He is very cute and strips off his shirt at the end of the game!

Maribel is huge now!! But no less adorable just harder to carry around!! She's such a bright little thing, and what a good temperament. Sleeps through the night, doesn't scream when not attended to, and only fidgets when she's overstimulated (like um.. at huge soccer games!). All things that I appreciate now that I've been around quite a few babies! She's got this curly mohawk thing going on and these gorgeous eyes rimmed with long, thick eyelashes! I brought my DSLR on the trip intending to take lots of good family pictures, only to find I left the freaking battery at home. In addition to breaking my cell phone charger, let's just say I'm glad I have my laptop in order to keep myself sane!

So the game was awesome. A combination of horrible refereeing, a really vicious opponent (New England - are you surprised?) and a SINGLE score for our the Galaxy courtesy of Beckham. Oh, and lots of fireworks! What a night.. it's nearly 2am and we've just arrived in Temecula. Good night my dears!
