My flights home were uneventful and I spent most of the time watching the sights once we left the thick cloud cover of Alaska. I had a short layover in Seattle, just long enough to have a quick bite to eat and one last Alaskan Amber beer! LOL. Seattle was gorgeous and it appeared most of the smoke from the Northern California forest fires had blown out, making for some incredible blue skies. Time to hop on my last leg of the flight home and back to reality.
Unfortunately, my return to reality was quite a shock...it was still over 90 degrees at 10pm back in Sacramento and I instantly had trouble breathing when I stepped outside from the increased smoke in the air from all our forest fires. Although it was going to be nice to sleep in my own bed, I was still sad to be home and as I waited to get picked up, I could not get the morning on the boat off my mind.....what a different world I was back to. As I stood there daydreaming, I was caught off guard by the Airport police/security guy talking to me and sorta snapped back to reality. Ironically, it was the same guy who had flirted with me at the Southwest terminal two weeks ago when I flew to Las Vegas before the Kansas City meet up. HA HA. And here we stand again, replaying history over again. Oh boy, home for 5 minutes and already things are just back to "normal".
