Fiji Islands, April 2008

Nadi Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

Spent one incredible week exploring the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands in Fiji, on my way to New Zealand. Definitely worth the stop, as Fiji has a lot to offer to people of all means. It has wonderful secluded beaches, beautiful reefs, and friendly people. During my trip, I managed to visit the South Sea Island, Treasure Island, Beachcomber and Tivua Island, as well as Nanuya Levu, Nanuya Lailai and Tavewa. Favourite stop - Manta Ray Island Resort.

Great location, friendly staff, clean and affordable accommodations
Stayed at Mamas Tropic of Capricorn for three nights and was quite pleased with the accommodations, location and staff. A family run hostel, which is right on the water, just a short distance away from Nadi International Airport. A great deal, especially if you get to stay in the new hotel which was added about a year ago. There is a free pick up from the airport, online reservations, and a registered travel agent located on the premises. Found it very convenient to research and book trips directly from Mamas and the staff offered great advice as far as places to visit. You can relax by the small but nice swimming pool, have a few cold beers and even order a home cooked meal which is served at the bar. AC in all rooms, which for me is a must have for places like Fiji. Great choice for a budget traveler!
