This was the 6th annual Chocolate Festival in grapevine, TX. The two day festival started on Friday night with chocolate and wine at La Buena Vida winery and Saturday with various vendors at the Lancaster Theatre in downtown Grapevine. This event is a benefit for Travelers Aid-DFW. The perfect evening featured cooking demonstrations, live music, wine tasting, and sales from local artisans. The non chocolate food was provided by a really good local steak house called BB & Luigi's Vineyard Steak House. There were also various choclatiers including a place from the Dallas area called Chocolate Secrets. They had a variety of chocolates that included a white chocolate with peach schnapps. There were cupcakes made with tequila, strawberries and pretzels to coat under a fountain of chocolate and a tiramisu to die for.
The festival, which featured more than 30 chocolatiers from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, kicked with great wines and live jazz music that Friday Evening at La Buena Vida Vineyards. The event went from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. which was enough time to really enjoy all of the chocolate and fellowship. The tickets for the event were only $35 and they sold out this year.
They had a silent auction that has some really good high end items including jewelry. I didn’t bid on anything but it was fun watching people who really wanted an item go at it so aggressively.
This was a fun evening that could not have gone any better. I met some really friendly people from near and far and I am sure I will see them all again at another festival in the near future.
