I was so excited to be going back to Ireland, I had a 3 day trip as I was doing 2 flights out of Dublin on the A300 (<3 my twin aisle planes) to the Canary Islands! Iv been checking my roster online everyday as crewing usually switch round where you fly to and sometimes take you off things and I was scared they were going to take me off my trip, i needed the money too bad!! For doing Dublin we get £80 cash in hand a day :) There were 6 of us going and 2 flight crew, we positioned out on Wednesday on an Aer Lingus flight..my first flight with them.. so nice and the plane was half full.. the guy flight attendant at the front was French and called Francois he liked me and gave me some free bits including his phone number ha ha
Me, Charlotte, Hannah, Francesca, Amanda and Maria got to Dublin about 6pm and got the coach to the hotel (Crowne Plaza) where we were staying, this hotel is heaven! my room was gorgeous! I had a huge double bed sooooo comfy and a mini bar which we had to pay for.. doh!! Me, Hannah and Francesca went for drinks in the bar, i only had a glass of nasty rose but it made me tipsy really quickly as usual haha I was already a giggling wreck by the time Id even left the hotel! I then said goodbye to the others to go meet Helen in town (www.travbuddy.com/witch_way) a great friend who I met on TravBuddy! The taxi driver was such a dude.. i kept accidentally slipping into my dodgy Irish accent. I met Helen at the HalfPenny Bridge and she took me to this lovely cocktail bar where we had these 2 lemon cocktails each so tasty, we were the only people in the bar and the fire alarm kept going off. I was really tipsy by this point and had no idea what was going on.. ha ha :s
Next we headed to my haunt The George, i LOVE this place! one of the most famous gay bars in Europe, it was really busy for a Wednesday and I got accosted a few times :) which is erm .. always nice :D I made Helen dance with me on the main stage to the Pussycat Dolls new song... tuneeeeeeeeage! We met this Canadian guy who really annoyed me eugh he was such a slimeball and also this American guy from Dallas who looked like someone I worked with, i was also talking to this mexican guy and the American guy came over and was like 'make your decision HIM or ME!'', I was like 'Oh him!' :D haha cue the American storming off :P Anyways the night was completed with more drinking and dancing as per expected. There were also a few drag queens performing.. Helen im never gonna get that image of that tranny singing 'tomorrow will be the 22nd century' out of my head.. omg so bad my eardrums were bleeding!! ;P
Me, Helen and Mexican Hottie left about 1.30am ish and stumbled into the icy cold Dublin summer evening and went to Charlie One's for food.. I love this place after dancing in Dublin.. good times.. I thought it was called Charlie Wongs.. must be Helen's accent :P I stumbled into my hotel room about 3am and fell asleep and woke up at 8am, my flight was meant to be leaving at 11am.. I got a phone call saying the A300 had gone tech so had to wait for further info.. They decided to use the Boeing 757 to take the passengers to Lanzarote.. only 1 problem.. Only 2 of the crew are trained on it and guess who is one of them.. doh and the rest of the crew are Irish temps!! so me and Maria were off to Lanzarote whilst the other 4 took the A320 to Faro.. Me and Maria had to wait around the hotel allday.. eventually the flight took off at 7pm that night.. 8 hours late!! The Irish passengers i must say were really nice and gracious, unlike their London counterparts who would've been spitting blood at 8 hours. Me and Maria got back to Dublin about 4.30am to find out the A320 had gone tech in Faro so the crew were staying there overnight... no way!! me and Maria were so annoyed doh!! just our luck!! and back to the hotel about 6am once we'd done all the paperwork( should have been home at 8.40pm the previous evening so no clubbing that night!) :s Stumbled into bed and fell asleep with the news.. woke up at about 8am to John McCain's speech which scared the bejesus out of me! (not the speech the music they played with it!)
Our following flight the next evening was also delayed 4 hours which gave me a few more hours sleep and as usual the passengers were lovely.. something which made me laugh was so much that they all clap when we land! ha ha ha ha! Left for Tenerife at almost 9pm and got back to Dublin at 6am, we had to run through the airport to grab our suitcases and check in for our Ryanair flight back to London which was delayed as usual.. at least I got the cute flight attendant's phone number and again free drinks :D I cant wait to go to Dublin again..
