Elephant ears

As this was my last day in Dublin and the weather was lousy I didn't really do much apart from packing and sitting around. Spent some time online, you know what it's like....

Then the doorbell rang and the neighbour asked if I could please give her her front door key as she'd locked herself out. So in I went to get it and we then chatted for a while while Jordan and the dog were in the front yard. Jordan was trying to get the dog to sit and asked him a few times. The dog normally hasn't got any kids around and he got a bit annoyed with her, and suddenly he snapped! He actually attacked her quite viciously and I have no idea what would have happened had we not been there. Luckily we were, and we were able to stop him so she didn't get too badly hurt. He did grab her lip though and she had a small puncture mark on the outside and a big one on the inside of her mouth just above her top lip. Obviously she was very upset and we took her to the doctor after applying some ice and a band-aid. She was up to date with her normal vaccinations so she didn't need a tetanus shot but she was put on antibiotics. The strange thing was that she didn't get scared of the dog after that but my eldest daughter Reagan did!

The lip was very swollen but the hole closed over pretty quickly I'm glad to say. Just another warning though that no matter how friendly dogs are, you can't be too careful when it comes to dogs and kids!
