Inside The Square

The morning was quite dull again so we decided to take the girls to see a movie. We went to UCI Kids in Tallaght, which is a show especially for children. We went to see "Horton hears a Who", which is a Dr. Seuss story. The movie started at 11 and we had some time left over so we went for a quick walk around the shopping centre (The Square). We then got some snacks to take to the movie (coffee from McDonalds for my mum and me, and I must admit the coffee was good) and paid for our tickets. As this is a special showing the kids get in for €3,- each and the adults get in for free! Before the movie started Jordan, who had never been to a cinema before, asked what it was. My mu replied: "it's a big tv", and the next question was: "where's the remote control?"! The movie was fun, the kids enjoyed it and as it is all families with young kids nobody cares if the kids don't sit still or make noise.

I would definitely recommend this if you have kids and it's a rainy day. After the movie we went to have another look around the shopping centre but the kids weren't on their best behaviour to say the least so it wasn't that much fun. We did have lunch here too, and then went grocery shopping.

The Square was built while I was living in Dublin and I must say the centre itself hasn't changed that much but the area around it definitely has! So many new buildings, shops, cafe's, and a much bigger car park, it is unbelievable! Tallaght used to be an area where you wouldn't feel very safe walking around, it was one of the worst areas on the southside of Dublin back then. It has improved an awful lot though and if you are on the southside and want to do some shopping The Square is not a bad choice.
