I just returned from my trip to Tuscany, Italy. It was overall a great trip. The only really bad part is our 16 year old dog getting ill. It looks like he may have a tumor in his mouth but we won't find out for sure until tomorrow :-(. This is why I did post this blog sooner. I've been a crying mess. I know he's old, but it doesn't make it any easier.

It took us awhile to find the villa we rented.  It is in Poggibonsi but it is very confusing to find at first (at least we thought so).  The only negative thing about this villa is the windy, uphill gravel road you have to take to reach it.  It's not for the faint of heart, especially when there's another vehicle coming from the opposite direction and you have to find somewhere to try and pull over.  I thought we going into a ditch a couple of times.  Niccolo, the manager was very patient and waited for us even though we had arrived well after the 6:00 p.m. deadline for check in.  We had called him earlier on the road to let him know that we would not make it on time and he was very understanding.  When we finally did arrive, we were so pleased.  The villa was just how it looked on the website (Il Tufo delle Tre Querce.  I highly recommend it).  Niccolo was extremely helpful and very nice.  He told us he would give us a password for the wireless connection, gave us some recommendations on where to eat, and pointed us in the direction of the local train station.

Since we were all pretty exhausted after the drive, we just opted to eat at a little local pizzeria.  It was very yummy and the waiter was extrememly helpful and pleasant.  After our meal, we headed back to the villa and all went straight to bed.  I had my first welcome from the resident mosquito that night.

A Beautiful Villa in Tuscany
We recently returned from our family vacation in the Tuscany region of Italy. I have to say what made our visit even more enjoyable was our lovely villa we rented in Poggibonsi. I was a little nervous when first booking this villa because I could not find any other reviews and the website made the villa look to good to be true. Well, I have to say in our case, we were very pleasantly surprised. There are five apartments on the property. We rented the Le Stalle Apartment (sleeps a total of 4), which I think was the best one on the property since we had a private garden with a bbq. The villa was represented exactly as shown on the website. The pool was also an added bonus. Especially after those days of touring in baking hot Tuscan sun.

Niccolo the property manager was very patient, pleasant and helpful. We were late checking in and he was very understanding. Anytime we had a question, he was there to answer our call and give us help on anything we needed.

Another added bonus to this villa was the access to WiFi for those that have a laptop or notebook they want to bring along. It was something I could live with out while on vacation but it was nice luxury to have as well.

The only negative thing I could say about this property (and this is very minor in my opinion) is the drive to get there. Our Navigon GPS couldn't pick up the address and it was confusing for us to find the property on our own. We phoned Niccolo and he was able to guide us there. Also, the gravel road is very narrow an curvy going up a hill. It was a little daunting at first passing other vehicles but we soon got used to it.
