A whole week back in Edinburgh with some of my bestest friends in the world. :D

Some thoughts on stepping in the same river twice

Edinburgh - well, I would always class it as my home town.  but I haven't actually lived there for a long time, and so this is my philosophical rant on stepping in the river twice.  It is a well known fact that you can't - the river moves on when you aren't looking, and it isn't the same one any more.  And people like Pocahantas in that disney cartoon go on like that's a great thing.

Maybe.

But not when they shut down my favorite chip shop!  It was a good chip shop, and now it's gone.  I don't recognise half the west end any more - there's tons on development and that's great and all, but now I get lost.  I can't give good, up to date bar recommendations because they've refurbished half my favorites - apart from the sheep's heid, which will always be amazing - and now they're all soulless and commercial.

Progress is a good thing.  but can you please persuade it not to affect chip shops?

Ol' Heraclitus knew a thing or two about Edinburgh chip shops, obviously :)
