A weekend of Art Nouveau and a pleasant surprise.

Nancy and the French Art Nouveau

We had travelled to Nancy to check out the Art Nouveau architecture, of which there is plenty in the city. As a blacksmith, my main interest is the wrought iron work ofcourse, which is why we did not visit the Musée de L'Ecole de Nancy. We just strolled around the garden.

The main attraction I guess is the Villa Majorelle, which is absolutely beautiful, but needs a little restoration here and there. Besides that, the Place Stanislas is impressive, as is the medieval part of the city.

Be warned that restaurants do not open until 7pm and even if it's 6:55pm and the door is wide open, you may still be told 'we don't open before 7pm'. Right...
