The City Of Munich
My boyfriend and I flew from Heathrow to Munich airport with Lufthansa. I'd been told wonderful things about the German airline but it wasn't anything extraordinary.
After we'd checked into the hostel (which was more like an apartment building - the rooms were huge) we went to explore the city. Munich is an awesome Bavarian city. Everywhere you look there's an advert for Konig Ludwig Dunkel (a Bavarian beer), a picture of Neuschwanstein Castle and pretzels. Pretzels and beer are a big combination in Bavaria. Munich is a very modern city, but it's not without its history. The places I visted in Munich are:
- The Olympia Park
- The Englischer Garten
- St Michaels Kirche (where you'll find the tomb of Ludwig, the fairytale King, costs two euro to see it)
- The Allianz Arena (this is where the first game of the 2006 Germany World Cup was held. It's an awesome spectacle with its changing colours)
- Marienplatz - the centre of Munich. Here you can find the famous Glockenspiel which plays every day at 11am.
