The Giant Euro Sign In Front Of The Central Bank

Realising that as accountants we have THE most exciting job in the world ever, we decided that we would need a break from all the fun and excitement and let somebody else experience the joys of the accountancy world for a change. See accountants can be nice....from time to time.

Remember, accountants aren't boring people, we just get excited over boring things.

Initially we were just gonna drive up and cause some mayhem in Belfast but then someone pointed out that it would be just as cheap to fly to Frankfurt. Whilst it was a tough decision, I booked my flights and met Derek & Akash in the airport bar at 7 the next morning for the first 3 rounds of double whiskeys. Dont look down on me, Im afraid of heights and unfortunately unlike Mr.

Frankfurt
T, I have no friends to drug my milk and carry me on the plane, apparently this is no deemed illegal in most countries.....

Although Ryanair land about an hours bus journey away from town, it was the perfect opportunity to sample some fine German beers! As it turned out and I promise that this was unintentional, our hostel was above a strip club (which coincidently is how we found the hostel but thats a completely different blog!!) but it turned out that we were staying right in the heart of Europe's 2nd largest red light district!! The girls would later not find this very amusing.

So after checking in, the 3 of us set of to explore (no, not the red light district). Went from bar to bar hoping to stumble across Sachsenhausen (very bad spelling). After we grabbed some dinner, I got a call from Claire & Steffi who had just landed so arranged to meet them in the Irish bar beside the train station, Hauptbahnhof. We went around a few bars around Sachsenhausen just not the part of it that is meant to be Germany's answer to Ireland's Temple Bar. We ended up in some really odd rock club. Was great fun though.

When we got back to the hostel, we found the others had already landed and made their way to a few bars themselves.
