Arriving in the rain. What?!?! It rains in Ireland?

After finally leaving Detroit...we flew all night and arrived at Adare Airport in the morning. Talk about a sterotype actually happening....it was frigging pour down rain. I thought the whole trip was gonna be a total waste. And since most of us were so excited about coming to Ireland...most of us didn't sleep at all on the way over.
So we all get through customs and finally find our tour guide. The airport was the perfect size. Not huge and a mess to navigate like our American hubs. We all pile into the big bus and off we go to Bunratty Castle...in the rain. Now all of us are tired and not really in the mood for a tour first thing in the morning. So we talk the tour guy, an amazing guide by the way, into working Bunratty in another day. We were all amazed at the hotel that we stayed in. The place was perfect. Rooms were great, the food was great, and the South African bartenders were the best. Now I tend to drink alot witht the locals when possible...and I kept that tradition alive and well on our very first day. My girlfriend says I have the odd habit of being able to be friends with anyone as soon as I meet them...go figure.
After all of us checked into our rooms, we decided to explore the area around the hotel. Amazingly the church where the wedding was to take place was only a couple blocks away. There was a great park to walk through directly across the street and a few pubs within walking/crawling distance of the hotel.
