A mate and I visited Iceland for a week. My first time anywhere with glaciers! Great fun, a lot of waterfalls and the odd bit of hypothermia!

Kerið

When we got the Golden Circle tour, Kerið wasn't one of the places I was most excited to see. When we got there, I couldn't have been proved more wrong. Initially unassuming when you pull up in a coach, Kerið appears to be a small mountain in the middle of no-where. When we (and the hundreds of other tourists) climbed to the top of the crater, the view was amazing. It was so beautiful, the steep slope down to the glistening water. Sadly, the tour only allowed for a twenty minute stop, enough time to climb up, have a gander and return to the coach. It's such a pity, I wish we could have stayed longer and walked around the rim of the crater and down to the water.

If you're ever near Kerið, definitely check it out.
