The invitation I prepared for my leaving bash prior to heading back to NZ and policing.

Paula drove me to the ferry next day.  We had a quiet trip as we were both a little sad about the pending farewell and at lunchtime I was back on the water heading to Fishguard, Wales.

From the ferry I jumped a train which took me into Bristol and from there jumped a bus up to Clifton where I could walk back to The Mall.  It felt a little odd not being  on the business side of the bar now but it was good to see my friends come and go to see me one last time.

As my flat was being reconstructed by the brewery I no longer had my own space in the house.
Nicole had graciously offered me her spare room which was nice of her as I counted down my last few days.

One of the cutest regulars. Sarah I think. I was always too shy to talk to her, damn it!

I had prepared an invitation for all my chums to come and enjoy one last hoorah with me on the 3rd so as they came through the pub I gave them a copy and made them promise thay'd see me there or at some point during the day for sure.

Several of the regulars said they'd be there for sure.  Some of them I didn't get to see over the next few days so I was bummed that I wouldn't get to share a good bye.

One or two I wanted particularly to have there were my dream-girls.  My father had always quoted sayings to me like, "If you're not fast you're last", very true I know, but even with all the time I spend on stage, public speaking, or Policing, deep down (beneath the costumes) I'm just a shy boy and this often makes me "last".

Thinking back now one girl I didn't get to say my good byes to was Rachel.  I didn't really get to see her too often after I left Pilning/Severn Beach to come into Bristol.  We'd caught up a few times for dinner or a party but the last time I got to see her was when she had Tony, Darryn and I around to her Ma's for dinner.
I heard from Tony she had met a man and moved in with him.  I was pleased for her.

The week was spent doing some final rounds of Clifton and Bristol.  I had plenty of places to see, poeple to farewell whom I knew wouldn't come to my do (like Tony's Ma) and a couple of things to get sorted.

I took a series of pics of things I hadn't snapped over the last 11 months.
