uno dos tres cuatro - HEY HO LETS GO!

camping outside the arrival gate at barajas airport hahahahaha
i was walking back and forth at the arrival in terminal 4 in madrid. went smoking 3 times, then walked back and forth again hahahhaha. i was sleepy but my spirits were high. it was humid and hot in madrid when i went outside smoking but a cool breeze was blowing. outside the taxi stands at barajas airport - it reminds me so much of my home - manila - i felt already so much at home eventhough i only saw just the outside. the reason why i said that, was that they have no system like in the philippines. they just wave at taxis and they stop, it was an unusual sight for me, as i am so used to the system in germany.

it was still about an hour before the guys would came - i dont know what to do anymore - finally i settled at a bench directly at the arrival area - people watching and creating stories in my mind to the people i saw passing by or near me or within eye distance from me.
3 am were still up! :D
hahahahahaha.

FINALLY of all the people i am expecting to arrive - robbo came first  - though i hate him (hahahhahaha you know its a joke you boy-looking kid hahaha) i am so glad that i can talk to someone! we went outside and had cigarettes - and chatted finally and get to know each other better - well were talking alot in privy and i chatted with him vaguely in düsseldorf - we had thousands of stories to tell to each other - like two old grandmas who were childhood friends and got separated at war hahahahah hahahah hahahah hahaha.

we had some drinks and sandwhiches at the cafe and made fun of people around us. hahahah hahah well im sure people made fun of us too so were bringing it back at them hahahah haha. alex (robbo) is a person that doenst trust easily.
2 r's! rubs and robbo!
he's a bit aloof at the first glance,as ive said that i met him only once in düsseldorf meet up and practically shoved me away! hahahaha but we got along in chat, and once you gain your trust with him, he will tell non-stop stories that makes my eyes roll! hahahahaha and it was amazing to know him, because he is not normal! hahahahahaha.

the agony was came undone - rubs, lori, hannah and ben (smeeb) arrived at almost 2 am!!!! god! that was really a pain in the ass i mean - literally sitting for ages waiting and waiting! arrrghhhhhh - its the first time i saw hannah - but ive heard so much about her -  and shes an amazing person! i think shes the coolest aussie ive ever met  in my life! then smeeb - hes such a funny guy - he caried and hugged me when we saw each other for the first time - but i knew him already as we talked for hours on the phone and sending sms to each other - then lori and rubs hugged me and gave me a late  birthday present - A CAN OF BAKED BEANS! hahahahaha and the card - thank you so much guys for signing the card at rubs birthday i am so touched.
hahahahahahahahaha ben aka smeeb
i know lori and rubs already, theyre one of my favorites here in travbuddy and i am so excited that i would be travelling with them! but i was dreading the urban legend "ruby duty" already! hahahah hahahah (long story).

so we missed the subway and i dont wanna use the taxi going to central madrid - so we went out of the airport exit - AND WE BASICALLY CAMPED OUTSIDE - i mean if we do that in germany - we should be getting reprimanded but the securities and staffs at the airport were so tolerant that they didnt even cared!  took out robbo's ipod with speakers, smoked and indian sat out there hahahaha hahahah hahahaha we were there for a couple of hours and still a long way to go since the subway opens at 6 am and we have to hurry to catch the bus at mendez alvaro to la coruña which is about 750 kms.
my tatoo in my skinny leg! arrrghhhh
hahahahah hahaha.

it got cold at about 4 am - so we went back to the cafe and i couldnt believe my eyes - i mean ok - i am 10 years older than them but still i couldnt believe they were eating chips to get full instead of healthy food and the table was so dirty with trash and plastic bags and what on earth you can imagine! its like christmas! hahahahahahaha.

at 5:45 we went down to the subway and waited for the gates to open - bought our tickets  till mendez alvaro station in south madrid where the buses going to the north are stationed.

we looked drugged from no sleep and were so noisy inside the subway - we were all basically crammed in the doorway that nobody can get past us. then in one of the stations - a nasty cruel staff - woman - shouted at us and talked in spanish - saying we shouldnt be in the doorway and practically shoved us away only with her mean and nasty voice! robbo was scared and dropped his beverage bottle and she scared the shit out of me! hahahahahaahaha.
smoking smoking and endless smoking! thats viva la vida! hahaha

at mendez alvaro station - it was difficult because they couldnt speak english so i tried my best to speak spanish and ole! :D it was not hard to get the tickets to la coruña!!! muchos gracias mi maestras - ana y lili :P

we just got there on time - because the bus leaves at 7:30 and its 7:25! hahahahhaa we ran like its the last run of our lives! and it was confusing because the bus didnt said that its driving to la coruña - so i asked a man standing - and he said its on the other side which is 500 meters away! WHATTAFUCK! but then i saw the bus in front of us changed signs going to our destination! and we got off! after a few minutes - everyone was dead sleeping! hahahahaha.

sorry - this blog is full of blah blah blah! ahaha but if you look at my last entry of madrid in this trip, thats the time we really went to explore the city - this one is just a transit point to our destination in northwest spain!

madrid barajas international airport terminal 4
madrid barajas international airport has 4 terminals. when i went to spain, i used spain's national flag carrier which was iberia airlines. iberia airlines is seviced only in the fairly newly built terminal 4 of barajas airport.

in my honest opinion, madrid barajas terminal 4 is the most beautiful airport i had been to, even topping my favorite airport which is düsseldorf international airport.

it has a very huge space. in terms of architectural design, its just a big square, but the architects made it more creative by adding dimensions inside.

considering spain, barajas terminal 4 is very very clean. there are walking escalators to help ease the heavy loads and burdens of passengers, huge number of toilets and powdery rooms, lots of waiting chairs, enough restaurants and fastfoods for small hunger, scattered free internet, a direct line to the subway at the arrival area, a very nice and affrodable cafe at the arrival area, a tourist info at the arrival area and a priority in my list - smoking areas every 50 meters inside the airport! even in the waiting area for baggages they provided smoking areas! considering in europa, they are banning smoking in airports. i mean what more can you ask for, for an international airport? thats why it won a prize when it was built in 2006.

the bestest offer from madrid barajas international airport, is that - at the arrival area, they couldnt care less if you sleep inside the airport, or hang around the airport if youre late arriving and waiting for the subway which opens at 6:30 am. me and my friends hang-out just outside the gates of the arrival area, put on loudspeakers from the ipods and chilled out. nobody reprimanded us even if we were at 3-4 am noisy and laughing our hearts out.

it was defnitely the best airport i had ever used.

The pictures are actually quite cool :)
But if your priority on an airport are smoking areas - that's sad :P
