Place that offers almost every sort of entertainment
The Republic is one of the coolest places in Salzburg, in my opinion. It is a Cafe/Restaurant during the day, with averaged price dishes and coffees. The dishes can be a bit strange, because its usually experimental cuisine and the outcome can be noodles with rasberries (which I do not recommend). During summer you can sit on the large terrace. Sadly, the downside is, that the service is quite slow, so its better to have time on your hands, if you want to eat there.
During the evening, it turns into a bar/club. The music varies with the day of the week, for example Tuesday is Salsa-night, with Salsa-teachers and all... but many times, its House and Techno-music, with different DJ's. My bf said its good house, which I can't judge, because I am no fan of it. The dancefloor has a good size and the drinks are really good and have normal (salzburg-) prices.
Attached to and part of the Republic is also a stage, which has international (mostly indie-) acts performing pretty often. Bands, Danceperformances, theatre, that sort of thing.
The Place is right in the city-centre, close to Hanuschplatz and surrounded by other bars.
