Der Salzburger Christkindlmarkt

Well, I have been complaining about how everywhere is cooler than Salzburg. Then I decided to have a second look and this is the random blog about things I have been looking at...
Cute market in a romantic setting
This extremely cute little Christmas-market is in the Festung Hohensalzburg. Not only do you get to see the stunning, medieval castle and the city from above, but they also sell a different type of arts and crafts.
The best thing is to go, shortly before sunset, so you can see the castle and museums in daylight and the stunning view after sunset. And the market is also at its best with the torches and candles.
The people who work there dress up in medieval dresses, very cute.
The gluhwein (mulled wine) was excellent and cost 2,50 euros. They also sell schnapps.
Its open from mid-November till Christmas and until 6 pm.
The only pain is that it costs 5 euros to enter the castle, but you get the entry to the museums and a guide included. Its cheaper to walk up, the stairs are between St.Peters Friedhof and the Stiegl-Keller and with a bit of fitness takes only ten minutes.
