The happy couple

This morning, we could be relaxed a little because our plan was only going to my friend’s house and to the airport after that. So, we just lied down on the bed and watched TV. The breakfast served was only “ketupat sayur” and toast. I was sure that the ketupat sayur was hot so I chose toast. My daughters ordered instant noodle (the most expensive instant noodle that I ever paid).

At 10.30, we went to Harisko’s house. When we arrived there, he was still in his wife’s house. I chat with his mom and she showed us the “pelaminan” (the bride and groom’s special seats). I was amazed with it. The whole room (not too big) was covered by red cloths, not only the wall but also the ceiling. The carpet was also red. On the middle of the carpet, they put a long white table cloth and many plates of Padang cuisines were served on it.

After 30 minutes waiting, at last the bride and the groom came with the bride’s family. They marched and they wore red too! There was a little traditional ceremony before the bride and the groom entered the house. There was 3 singers and a keyboardist sang and played music. In Indonesia we called it “organ tunggal” (solo keyboard). After eating (spicy food again!), we decided to leave. We went inside the house to give congrats to my friend and his wife and said good bye.
