Day 4, Sunset at Padang Beach
We didn’t have time to play in the water, so we rushed to the car. On the way to Padang, it was raining very hard, so the journey took longer time. We were just in time to catch Tita’s flight. My children were very tired and felt that they couldn’t take anymore trip by car. I thought about staying in Padang that night. Unfortunately, all hotels that I had the numbers were full. Since, I could’t think clearly because I was also tired, I decided to ask the driver to take us to Padang beach. The children could play with the water while stretching their bodies after a very long trip. So, after we prayed, we leaved the airport.
We were just in time to watch the sunset.
There were many people on the beach, no wonder because it was Saturday. I ordered 2 portions of sate Padang for Arin and the driver and grilled corn for Raya and me. I was avoiding spicy food dince my stomach was not too well. When the food was ready, I shook my head. They put chilly on the corn. I felt that I missed Javanese food which was sweet and not spicy. Of course Raya would not eat it even a bite, and I just ate a little.
After we ate, we played with the waves, had our feet massaged by the sand, and enjoyed the sunset. The beach was quite nice to play on. Only, it was not well developed as a tourism spot. The beach was clean, but the stone baricade that protected the land from the waves was dirty. When I could think clearly, I decided that we would stick to our plan, stayed at Batu Sangkar. We reserved a room there and we would attend Harisko’s wedding reception. I asked my daugthters about that and they agreed. They would sleep on the way there.
So, we stopped at a mosque to pray and continued our travel to Batu Sangkar. We arrived at the Hotel Pagaruyung 2 at 11 pm. It was a black out. They said it would be about 1 hour. Since I was too tired, I had no complain. Luckily, the hotel got 2 sources of electricity. Even it was dark but the AC was on. The room was simple, clean, and nice. It was a new hotel. When, we were ready for bed, the light was on. Hurray...
