The train trip into Stockholm was a beautful scenic ride, and was so comfortable and warm...I loved it!! It was great seeing all the rural areas during the winter, it really is beautiful. We rolled into Stockholm at round 7pm and walked to our hostel pretty quick as it was so easy to find. We crashed quite early but headed out for a quick walk to get a feel for the place first.

We got up the next free internet and endless free tea and coffee!! Yay! That was the best thing about the hostel and we surely made the most of it while staying there! We eventually managed to get out the door and see the city...firstly walking along the river and making our way over to Skansen, via bridges and a short boat ride.

Skansen is one of the many islands, but this one had an open air museum. A better way to describe it to us Aussies is its the Swedes answer to 'Old Sydney Town'. It was gorgeous, especially at this time of year with all the fallen snow, so pretty. It was all wooden lodges, windmills, spread out over a huge area, with many paths to help you get lost!  Alot of the houses and displays were closed because of the time of year, but you could still peek inside the windows to get a fair idea of what it was like. Johnny was so stoked as they had a little zoo...with wolverines, his  favourite animal. They also had wolves, mooses, bears (that were hibernating so i guess they are not included!) and seals. Was really cool. The sun was going down very fast, so we made our way back to town for a bite to eat and enjoy what was left of Valentines Day.
..awwwwww. Met some awesome guys from Germany in our dorm- Toby and Thomas- and a bunch of others. Great company!!!

Up early and eager we had a flight to catch. We stopped off first at the supermarket where you get vouchers to use in exchange for empty bottles. We managed to get one little lolly each with our voucher but it was heaven! i loooove lollies! Time was flying...and we still didnt know how long it was going to take to get to this airport. comment. Got to the bus station to find that there were no buses for another couple of hours. Ran to the train station and there was one leaving  not long after so we jumped on that. By this stage we were not sure whether we were gonna make it.... got off train in middle of nowhere  to catch a connecting bus, that was late. Uh oh. Got to the airport 20 mins before departure and all ticket desks were shut. AHHH! But luck was in our favour....the flight was delayed!!!!  so they put our bags through and we went on our merry way, until Johnny got stopped at security as he still had his swiss army knife on him. So we sent little swiss home for another visit!!!! Eventually we were on the plane to our next destination.......Riga, Latvia!!!
