After a 12 hour bus trip we arrived tired and hazy in a new city....BRUSSELS! All Johhny was thinking was beer and all I was thinking was chocolate!!!As it was only 6am and hostels dont let you check in till 2pm we chose to leave the bags there and hit the town. We loved Grand Place, which is a massive square surrounded by huge structures, one of which is Hotel De Ville.  Brussels is a city full of winding streets and big old buildings...not to mention endless pubs and bars! we went out with our roomie Andy, and some mates from the hostel to a pub with over 2000 beers....obviously Johnny was in beer heaven!!! I got one that was meant to be "sweet and fruity" but tasted just like apple juice....hmmm. On or last day we headed to the outskirts of town to see the Atomium, a futuristic structure left over from a '50's Trade Fair. They have been reconstructing it over the last year, and it now looks amazing! I am so glad we took the time to go see it. Make sure you do if your ever in Brussels!!! We stayed here for another night before heading off for a night in Antwerp (on our path AMSTERDAM!) Antwerp was a funny little town, but had a great castle on the river and beautiful buildings too. We were staying right next to a jewish community which was interesting, but before we knew it we were on the move again...
