Got bored last September, so got in the car & drove to Switzerland for a few days!! loved it so much, went back again for new year and an attempt at learning to ski! Stayed in lauterbraunnen..in the valley of waterfalls... it was the most beautiful place I've come accross so far :)

Lovely, nice, clean campsite / lodge / hostel in an amazing location & cheap!
Came accross this in a camping guide and just chose it on a whim as the trip was a last minute-jump-in-the-car-and-see-what-switzerland's-like kinda trip!

Have been here twice now. in Sept 2007 camping (it was freakin freeezing) but the pitches were fine and the shower rooms were brand new and llurrrrrvellly and warm, clean, roomy (took family room ones as the place was pretty empty). Then moved to a little chalet which was tiny but warm & clean and pretty cheap.

went back for New Year and stayed in the hostel/ bed/breakfast building (newly built), which was quite well priced as well...but Switzerland is damn expensive in my opinion, despite living in london!

It's a family run place and everyone's really helpful and friendly, with weather reports on demand. It's a short walk to the station to get up to Wengen and all the ski runs. Loadsa walks close by as well, which double up as sledge runs in the winter.

It's quiet there as well, and the views from the campsite are breath-taking... all you can hear usually are the little waterfalls flowing nearby!
