Incredibly beautiful in a French-Italian way. Kansas City looks like one of those middle class Italian towns. The French and Italian style buildings and fountains gave me that familiar feeling of being in Italy - especially the Plaza. What a handsome second unofficial Travbuddy Meet Up. Kudos Mark & James.

Pre Meet up @ Howl at the Moon

The Westin Center Hotel

@ The POWER & LIGHT DISTRICT: The flight and missing camera aside, I arrived in peace at the Westin Center hotel at a quarter to four in the afternoon. The check in process was a little tricky as I was not sure if the room was booked under James' or Yadilita’s name - silly me I did not ask when I spoke to James earlier. Well the receptionist (Stephanie) was kind enough to look it up for me. She said she could do so under either names so she asked for Yadi's last name (heheheheeee), and then Jame's and, I literally laughed out loud because I did not know either. How stupid could a traveler be? Well I was feeling silly and smiling like a fool. So I made one last call to James who salvaged the day: My room key was duplicated giving me 2 instead of one even though Yadi already had a set.

I love western civilization. In my country I would be sitting waiting for Yadi to return, lol!

I had to meet the rest of the team by 5:00 p.m. at Howl at the Moon. With one whole hour to work with, I was in no hurry. The concierge had already told me that it was less than seven minutes to our meeting point. The room was pleasant and had the little things that were indicative of Yadi's presence, lol! (She is a little lady). I was excited to meet her having spent some time reading her blogs to get a little familiar with her character, likes and what not. Nothing prepared me of course as she totally surprised me with her warm and out going personality.

Anyhow, I settled in and unpacked only what I needed for the evening: debated on whether I would wear one of two pink tops I had carried.

I ended up choosing one that would turn the night into what is now circulating around as the 'flash night' heheheeeee! The shower was refreshing giving me back the energy I needed for the rest of the night. At ten to five, I went down and took a taxi ($5.00) to the meeting point. On the second floor it was, but on arrival I settled down stairs at the restaurant instead not paying attention to the signs. After about 20 minutes something told me this was not the right place, no one had shown and yet it was way past the hour. I had tried calling both James and Mark 3 times each to no avail. Apparently they could not hear (I found out later) due to the loud music upstairs. I was beginning to feel a lil' lost so I did the very thing I should have done in the first place, ask the bartender where the pub was, duh!

'O' no Ma’am' it is upstairs on the second floor' she said, ‘let me take you there’.

I joined the group and the first person to greet me with such enthusiasm was Yadi. It felt like we had known each other for a really long time. Eric was the other familiar spirit: You meet him and you are immediately at ease. Together he and Yadi made dynamite. All together the team included Melanie, Mark, James, Will, Erin, Tim, RJ, Shawn, Sal, Eric, Yadi and me.

And so we howled until the following was overwhelming. The rest of the pub was aware of our presence. Some of what happened there is beyond description. The bartender (service lady) honored my excitement by giving me a sticker. The sticker read: "Follow me to the moon", My souvenir from Kansas City, Missouri.

Next time you should follow me, no regrets, lol!
