Bernadette will be going home tomorrow afternoon. It would seem like after a week in Paris I would feel as comfortable in Paris as I did in Barcelona or Malaga, but with the language "barrier" everyday is a new mission to find who you can relate with. Funny thing is I've found that behind almost every stranger is a secretly hidden smiling face. The people we've met and the friends we've made were so unexpected to be before the trip, but as of now, they hold such an importance that I'm speechless. These people aren't concerned with conforming to the point of invisibility, but instead they emphasize individualities, be it style or personality, not to impress others, but instead, themselves. We've seen so many places on this trip. Castles, beaches, Gaudi, Picasso, flamenco, pallela, cathedrals, churches, the Gothic quarter, Las Ramblas, the Columbus Monument, the beaches of Biarritz, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, London (sorta), the Lourve, the Arc de Triumph, Notre Dame, the Pantheon.
Berns leaving Paris
.oy... Still though, It's those moments where you're standing at this monument or Mona Lisa thinking, "Absorb it! This is a moment you'll reflect on the rest of your life!"  But in reality, it's those moments when you're drawing at the door of a Malaga hostel, or laughing at your new friends crazy French (fraaanch!) accent, when you really (truly!) realize where you are and what you're accomplishing. It's not as if these trips are just "vacations" so much as lifetimes and options that were ended way too soon.
