TBs rock and rule!
The best thing I like about TB is that I get to meet lots of cool and fun people. I love making new friends and I feel really happy when I get to meet the nicest people.
And I guess TBs have this some sort of natural bond that unconsciously links us together. For example, what were the chances that we would be bumping onto other TBs at the same bar? BIG! I think everyone heard me scream amidst the loud music when I saw some familiar faces dancing and drinking in Pier 1 at The Fort-- Sarj (kickasstunner), Jay (JeAr) and Ted (Ted332) together with Jorrit (Allnamestaken), a TB from Holland and his buddy Joey, both I met for the first time. Ahh, it was such a fun night (more fun pics from Ted's blog: http://www.travbuddy.com/travel-blogs/37353).
Then there's the grand Manila TB meetup the following day, which was the biggest meetup I've attended so far, with about 30 people present.
It was such a joy to see familiar faces again, as well as meet new faces in person. Though we did get to break the ice even just during dinner, I think we totally melted the ice when we went dancing in a nearby bar thereafter. I couldn't have a drink since I was driving so I just made up for the lack of alcohol in my blood by just dancing like crazy. But well, I was just actually trying to catch up with Andi (andiboi), who, I have to say, was clearly Mr. Pure energy. But then again, I would also have to give hands down to Jorrit (allnamestaken) who was all energy as well with his robotic moves. After rocking the bar like we owned it, we called it a night. However, I felt quite hungry and knowing myself, I couldn't drive properly when I'm hungry so together with Josh (the_bloodsucker), Angelo (sunstroke), Sarj (kickasstunner), Andi (andiboi) and Irah (ice9van), we searched Makati City central business district for any open restaurant and found a heaven in Chowking restaurant.
Jorrit had already gone back to his hotel but wanted to join us as well so said he was gonna walk to where we were but we told him we'll just pick him up somewhere along the area. It wasn't hard to find him as it could only be him when we saw a guy in blue dancing in front of McDonald's with some of the crew. Hehehe. Anyways, we had some nice and warm congee at 2 in the morning. What a loooong, fun night it was. I was so knackered that I think I gave Angelo a scare when he saw my eyelids involuntarily drooping while I was driving. I did manage to drop him, Sarj and Jorrit to another bar in Quezon city at around 3am (I cannot believe they still had the energy!) and I did manage to keep myself awake for just enough time until I got home.
Many thanks to Josh (the_bloodsucker) for organizing another fun meetup.
Here's some links to blogs of my travbuddy friends for more details and more pictures (of me being crazy):
