Pit stop and clean up

I think the usual for travelers is that when they travel, they hop from one place to another. As for me, I noticed that amidst my love to be always on the go, I somehow would like to go back to home base before I launch off to another location. Perhaps it's for recharging and to get ready for another adventure.
So after an intense going about the country for the first two weeks, this week I stayed home base. I did want to do some out of Metro Manila travel this week but circumstances led me to stay home and thankfully it was the best decision because I had some time to catch up with my family and my good old friends, have some quality time for myself to do some writing, plus give my 10 year old SUV some well deserved carwash and check up after going through a lot of trips already (and especially after that muddy encounter in Alaminos City!).
Perhaps fate also had something to do with this pit stop because of two unexpected events that I wouldn't have attended to have I proceeded moving about: one was an SOS from work -- yes, ladies and gentlemen, I worked from home during this week, not because I am a workaholic but because I did tell my bosses before I left for my holidays that I would make myself available to help with any problems encountered by the business during this period since I was the only one who knew the details of this specific program; second and more importantly -- I was able to share the joy of one of my bestfriends (for 14 years now!) as she gave birth to her firstborn.
Ah yes, sometimes you just have to slow down and think about things, re-assess, make some checks, if everything is still on track, if everything is still in balance, and make the necessary precautions if you find some potential getting lost along the way, also this would be a good time to do some clean ups of any excess baggage you might have started to carry unnecessarily.
Yup, I realized and learned a lot of things during this time, about friendships, about family, about deciding what's best for you... Indeed, it's good to have pit stops and clean ups.
